Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am pretty sure that you have spent some quality time with your children for prayer, relaxation, family fun, and reading. A special welcome to our new students, and welcome back to all our returning students. Our theme for this year is “Angels Among Us”. Let us be angels to each other; this is the only way we can share the Gospel and contribute to a better world.
Thursday, August 15 is our Feast of Assumption. We will celebrate Mass at 8:30 a.m. All children must wear their regular school uniform; no PE uniform.

Special prayer: Our Mother, assumed into Heaven, we love you. Give us a greater love for Jesus and for you. Amen

Parent Information/Open House
Open House will be held during the last week of August. All parents are required to attend the Open House for the 2024-2025 school year; this will be your opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, visit the classrooms and learn more about the programs and resources that will be available during the school year. The activities will be as follows:

-
Monday, August 26, 2024: Preschool Open House at 6:00 p.m.; all parents report to the daycare.

-
Tuesday, August 27, 2024: K-8 Open House at 6:00 p.m., report to the church for prayer and blessings, followed by the general session. At 7:00 p.m., parents will report to their child's classroom. Teachers in grades K-5 will cover all subjects and class procedures. Teachers in grades 6-8 will address parents in their homeroom class for 10-15 minutes. At 7:30 p.m., parents with students in different classes will move to the next teacher(s) for information. The event will conclude at 7:50 p.m.

Please mark your calendar for this important meeting.

FACTS Tuition Management
We will continue using the FACTS tuition management system. All families will be enrolled in the system, allowing parents to pay their fees online with a bank account or credit card at FACTS. Parents may also come into the school office to pay their fees as before. Please do not ignore emails from FACTS, as this is how you will receive your statements. A late fee will be assessed if payment is not made by the date indicated on the statement.

School Supplies
School supplies information can be found online at holyfamilynorthmiami.org.
Emails and Phone Calls
It is extremely important that the school is able to reach parents and provide them with the necessary information to help them stay informed and keep their children safe. The best way to communicate with you is through phone calls and emails. Please make sure that you update your contact information in the school office, and: READ YOUR EMAIL!
Schedule for the School Year
Grades Pre-School-8 will be dismissed every day at 2:45 p.m. Parents have until 3:00 p.m. to pick up their child(ren). After Care begins at 3:15 p.m., fifteen minutes after dismissal, and extends until 5:45 p.m. The fee is $5.00 per hour or any part of an hour. If a student is not picked up within fifteen minutes after dismissal, they will be placed in After Care, and parents will be billed accordingly. Please plan to pick up your child(ren) on time if you don’t want to be charged.

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast and lunch will be available every day. We participate in the National School Free Lunch Program, and all students are provided with a free breakfast and lunch. The menu is posted each month on holyfamilynorthmiami.org. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Arrival and Dismissal
In the morning, parents and students will enter the parking lot from the south gate on 145th Street. Parents may drop their students off by the orange cones no earlier than 7:15 a.m. Please follow the traffic pattern and instructions given by school personnel. The exit is at the north gate on 147th Street. There is only one entrance line from 145th Street for arrival and dismissal. When you drop your children off, please have them get out of the car on the passenger side to prevent them from walking in front of your car.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Parking Lot Safety: SLOW DOWN
Holy Family Catholic School has hired Security Officers to patrol and enhance security and safety of our campus; please cooperate and adhere to all our procedures and guidelines. Children will be called only when parents are in the pick-up line according to the established procedures. Please do not park on our neighbors' property. Violators can be issued tickets by the North Miami Police.

Remember to drive slowly when entering and leaving the parking lot. There is only one single line as you enter. Please be patient and follow the line around to drop your child off by the gate where the safety patrol is stationed. It may take an extra minute or two to drop off your child, but isn't the safety of our children worth that small amount of time?
Uniforms
Every student must be in proper school uniform starting on the first day of school. School and P.E. uniforms must be purchased at Ibiley, located in the mall at 1267 NE 163rd St, Store #1024, Miami, FL 33162. All classrooms have air conditioning. If a student desires to wear a sweater or a jacket, they must wear school uniform sweaters or jackets (available at Ibiley). Please put your student’s name on the jacket in case it is misplaced. No exceptions.
